We welcome participants between the age of 25 and 65 who are in generally good health and comfortable walking several hours per day. You don't need to be an athlete or an experienced hiker, each stage is planned so that anyone with average fitness can complete it at a relaxed pace.

For the best group experience, we give preference to participants who can communicate in English (it doesn't have to be perfect!). Oliver and Dominique also speak German, Spanish, and French, and Jean-Pierre speaks portuguese, so everyone will feel included and understood.

Please note that this experience is limited to six participants only. Because the energy and spirit of the group are so important to us, the Camino Lovers reserves the right to make the final selection of participants to ensure the best harmony within the group
No, this journey is truly one of a kind. At this moment, we have no plans to organize another experience like this one. Our intention is not to become a Camino travel agency or a tour operator. This walk was created from the heart, to share something deeply meaningful with a small group of people who feel called to join. Of course, we never know what the future holds. While we might create other experiences someday, they would likely take a different form, always guided by our love for the Camino.
Maybe the dates are not corresponding to your availability, or you might not be able to afford the price, or all six places are already taken but you would like to walk the Camino de Santiago: we will be happy to help you! We work with a lot of other guides and companies around the Camino, or we can help you plan your OWN camino. Just contact us (see links below the FAQ) and we will find a solution!
This event is organized in collaboration with the Galicia Original Tours, a fully licensed European travel agency which means you are secured by the package travel contract under EU Directive 2015/2302. In any case you are protected by insolvency insurance, repatriation coverage and refund guarantees.
Yes, absolutely. Just contact us (see the links below the FAQ), and we’ll find a payment plan that works best for you. We want everyone who truly feels called to walk the Camino de Santiago with us to have the chance to be part of it.
Yes, absolutely, this journey is designed for beginners. We created the entire experience to make it easy for anyone to discover the Camino de Santiago, even without prior hiking experience. No special fitness level is required, the stages are thoughtfully planned in length and pace so that everyone can complete them comfortably. Of course, it will take some dedication and effort, but your biggest challenge will be mental, not physical. And we’ll be there every step of the way to support you in reaching your ultimate goal: Santiago de Compostela.
While a bit of walking practice before the Camino can be helpful, it’s not a requirement. Our stages are planned with care, no day exceeds 20 km, and the first days are intentionally shorter to help everyone ease in. We’ll walk at a comfortable pace, adapting to the rhythm of the group. Jean-Pierre, Oliver, and Dominique each have their own natural pace, so you’ll always find the one that feels right for you.
Yes, absolutely, if there are still two spots available, couples are welcome to join. However, please note that this is not a romantic couple’s holiday. Accommodation will be in shared dormitories with up to ten people, and each participant naturally walks at their own pace. That said, walking the Camino together can be an incredibly meaningful shared experience, one that strengthens your bond and creates memories you’ll carry for life. As a couple ourselves, we can tell you: it’s something truly special to experience together. Please note that we’re unable to offer special prices for couples.
Don’t worry, we’ll provide you with a detailed packing list before the journey. During the pre-Camino Zoom calls, we’ll also help you personally adjust your backpack to your needs and preferences. Your backpack should ideally not exceed 6–8 kg, keeping it light and easy to carry. (There’s always the option to use luggage transport services along the Camino, although we don’t recommend it and they are not included in the price.)
5 out of 7 nights we will all sleep together in a dormitory (max.10 people) of albergues (typical Camino hostels). One night is planned to be in a hotel room (2 beds per room) and one night in a luxury tent (glamping) for two persons. We want to keep the experience as real as possible. We know that a lot of other Camino Organisations prefer to plan for people to stay in hotels, but the true spirit of the camino lies in the dorms and the shared experiences. And be assured that all albergues that we handpicked are very comfortable, incredibly clean and hosted by lovely people.
Absolutely, if you wish to. On the Camino, everything is possible, nothing is mandatory. If you prefer to walk certain parts on your own or spend quiet moments away from the group, you’re completely free to do so. Once we arrive at the albergues or hotels, you’ll also have time to rest, explore, or simply enjoy being on your own. All group activities, meals, gatherings or spiritual sessions are invitations, not obligations. Just let us know if you’d like to skip something. (Please note that there will be no refunds for activities you choose not to join.)
Our walk begins in the charming town of Sarria, located in Galicia (Northern Spain). There are several ways to join us there:

2. From Madrid:
There are direct train connections between Madrid and Sarria (approx. 3h 55min). If you prefer to come on your own, we’ll meet you in Sarria on July 18th, 2026 around 1:00 p.m. (train ticket not included in the price)
3. Other options:
Several other Spanish cities also offer connections to Sarria. If you need help finding the best route, we’ll gladly assist you. (The costs of these connections are not included in the price)
For any questions about travel planning or logistics, simply contact us, we’ll be happy to guide you step by step..
We’ll arrive in Santiago de Compostela on July 24th, 2026, around midday. However, the official end of the event will be the following evening, after the 7:00 p.m. Pilgrim’s Mass at the Cathedral (which finishes around 8:30 p.m.).y

We’ll celebrate our shared Camino experience during the St. James festivities in Santiago, including fireworks, concerts, and special local events on the 24th and enjoy a final group lunch together on July 25th.To make the most of it, we recommend planning your departure for July 26th or later, so you can fully experience the celebrations without any rush..
As soon as your participation is confirmed, you’ll receive an initial schedule with the main dates and details to help you book your travel. About one month before the event, we’ll send you the final itinerary, including every stage, accommodation, and planned activity, so you’ll know exactly what to expect and can prepare comfortably.
